Shrine to the Blanketman aka Ben Hana, Courtney Place. Ben was Wellingtons best known street vagrant. He had his constant brushes with the Law and his colourful street existence from the late 90s. I cant help but think of the contrast of Wellington City, the home of our Parliament, its buzzy inner city cafes and night life and plush hotels to life on the street. His funeral was paid for by Gareth Morgan a well known NZ businessman.

The first liver transplant performed in Australia. The photo was taken on Kodak Tri-X film at 4am in the morning and appeared in most national newspapers. The photo is now stored in the National Gallery archives in Canberra. Dr Russell Strong was the liver transplant Surgeon and Dr Bruce Burrows the leading Anesthetist. This photo was taken during my time as the Senior Medical Photographer at Princess Alexandra Hospital, Brisbane, Qld.
